Purpose and Overview
Graduate assistantships at 福利导在线观看 provide financial support to high-quality full-time students while enhancing their educational experience. These positions offer stipends, professional skills, and emphasize the student-mentor relationship, focusing on academic progress and professional development.

Types of Assistantships

• Graduate Assistants (GAs): Support faculty in research, creative activities, or administrative tasks. No regular teaching duties.
• Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs): Assist with undergraduate teaching, often through labs or discussion groups. Reserved for top-performing students.
• Graduate Teaching Fellows (GTFs): Serve as Professors of Record for introductory courses, typically in the second year.

Eligibility and Requirements
Must be enrolled full-time (9 credit hours), maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and complete all necessary tax forms. International students must verify work authorization and meet specific visa requirements.

Application Process
Students are automatically considered for assistantships upon admission. Additional applications for summer positions are accepted via resume submission to gradaffairs@radford.edu

Stipends & Responsibilities

• GAs: $11,200/year (20 hours/week); $5,600/year (10 hours/week)
• GTAs and GRAs: $12,430/year (20 hours/week); $6,215/year (10 hours/week)
• GTFs: $13,673/year (20 hours/week)
• GTAs, GRAs and GTFs receive 18 credits of in state tuition (9 for Fall, 9 for Spring)

Performance & Evaluation
 Assistantships require professional fulfillment of assigned duties, adherence to university regulations, and regular evaluations by supervisors.

Additional Information
Graduate assistants are covered by liability insurance, exempt from Social Security tax if enrolled at least half-time, and are not eligible for sick leave benefits. Additional employment is discouraged due to study demands.

Full-time Virginia educators (K-12) can qualify to pay a reduced tuition rate for 福利导在线观看 courses offered on and off campus. Educators (teachers, administrators, counselors, and librarians) can be enrolled for a graduate degree, additional endorsements, or for re-licensure. 福利导在线观看 has implemented this policy as recognition of the importance for Virginia educators to enhance their professional knowledge and skills. 

The reduced rate for the 2025-2026 Academic Year is $489 per credit hour for part-time enrollment. The semester total for full-time enrollment is $5859.

The Office of Graduate Affairs has limited funds to provide financial assistance to degree seeking graduate students presenting research at professional conferences or pursuing academic research. Graduate students are eligible for up to $500 per academic year, per student.
