Radford is committed to providing a high-quality education at an affordable price. Below, we've outlined several financial aid options for transfer students.

The Admissions staff automatically reviews transfer applicants who apply by our March 1 priority deadline for merit-based scholarships up to $10,000.  Awards are renewable up to two years as long as renewal criteria is met. Below is an overview of 2026-27 merit-based scholarship awards, amounts  and required cumulative transfer GPA.

In-State Student Merit Scholarships

• Phi Theta Kappa  ($3,000) - PTK Membership*
• Transfer Wayfinder Scholarship ($2,000) - 3.25 to 4.0 GPA
• Transfer Compass Scholarship ($1,000) - 2.5 to 3.24 GPA

Out-of-State Student Merit Scholarships

• Transfer Excellence Scholarship ($10,000) - 4.0 GPA
• Transfer Wayfinder Scholarship ($8,000) - 3.25 to 3.99 GPA
• Transfer Compass Scholarship ($7,000) - 2.5 to 3.24 GPA

*Students must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa to be considered for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship. Please submit a copy of the PTK membership card or PTK certificate for full review to admissions@radford.edu. 

Scholarship awards are subject to change after initial offer based on student domicile status and/or Academic Common Market eligibility. 

Admitted transfer students may choose to apply for donor-funded Foundation Scholarships.  The priority date for apply for donor-funded scholarships is Feb. 5.

Transfer students enrolling at 福利导在线观看 are eligible to apply  for the Virginia Transfer Grant (VTG) Program. This is is a need-based grant program for transfer students who have earned an Associate degree at a Virginia community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 

• Students must complete the Virginia Transfer Grant application and submit their final official transcripts with degree conferral date for consideration.
• Students must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and cannot exceed a maximum Student Aid Index (SAI) of 15,000.
• Students must have enrolled as a first-time freshman in the two-year program, completed the associate degree program, and enrolled full-time in a Virginia four-year college or university the following Fall or Spring semester.
• Continuing students must maintain full-time enrollment, minimum SAI requirements and a cumulative 3.00 GPA or higher to renew the grant.
