V.    Course Description:
This course focuses on maternal-newborn care and on the care of children from infancy
                                    through adolescence. Conception, pregnancy, fetal development, childbirth, and postpartum
                                    care are addressed. Emphasis is placed on nursing care of families, child growth and
                                    development from conception through adolescence, and common recurring pediatric illnesses.
                                    Nursing strategies that promote health, reduce risk, and prevent disease will be included.
