In this course students will learn to design inclusive instruction that connects diverse
                                       elementary students with their communities, from local to global, in both past and
                                       present.  Students will study models, theories, and methods informed by child development,
                                       disciplinary literacy, inquiry-based learning, multicultural education, social justice,
                                       and global education.  Students will create lesson plans that link to big ideas about
                                       the world, build upon student curiosity, include opportunities for authentic engagement,
                                       and align to state, national, and international standards for informed citizenship.
